Listed below are the answers to frequently asked questions about the Builder application. We’ve broken them down by topic.

Why do some users of the Opbuilder application not have access to Builder?
When Builder was released in July 2017, 250 service provider users were manually created initially from a report of users that had access to Opbuilder and were high volume users. It was decided that going forward users would be created by request to Support (with a few steps to verify access).
Users are granted access if their SRM application permissions include Manager, General Manager and/or Dealer Admin in the specific location/entity they are associated within the SRM application.
Creating Operations & Inspections
Can we mass load Operations from a spreadsheet?
Yes, please contact Support at email@example.com.
Is it possible to load our own operations via a template?
Not at this time. However, it is on our roadmap to improve the import process for Builder and eventually allow admin users to import operations via a template.
Is there an easy way to make all existing operations inactive prior to doing an import?
Not at this time.
Can we import inspections from a template?
At this time, inspections can only be built manually in Builder. You can do so by adding an Inspection Line Item to an existing operation. When you add an Inspection Line Item, the operation becomes an inspection.

What file formats are accepted for Operations and Inspections data?
Please provide your operations and inspections in one of the following formats:
- Original Excel, MS Word document etc.
- Original PDF (not a scanned copy of the original)
To save time and eliminate the possibility for error, please copy and paste the column headings below to your file to retain the same column structure.
Will it ever be possible for users to manually build their own systems and subsystems?
Systems & Subsystems now align with VMRS Codes 31 & 32 minus the one for Recalls. We are not planning on providing flexibility on this functionality at this time.
Can an inspection be copied from one location to another?
Not at this time. There is no functionality yet for copying or importing an inspection from one location to another or from test to production.
Can we use the Additional Charges section to return a default charge on dealer-specific operations from Builder?
Not at this time.
If I create a new location for a group that has an operation and they are grouped, will the operation appear on the new location for the group or do you need to redo the operations & inspections?
Using Operations in Case
How do I find my Builder operations in Case?
Search for and select your case to open it for editing. Scroll down to the Operations table, and click FIND OPERATION. The Add Operation page will appear with a tab for all the operations created in Builder for that location.

What if I receive the following error on the Add Operation page: "An error occurred while finding operations”?
This error message appears when no operations exist for the service location or in the network configured for the location.
How can a user tell where an operation came from when they add it to an estimate in Case?
Open the Edit Operation page, and look for the Opcode in the Operation Info section. In most cases, the first part of the Opcode will be the Location ID (or Entity) where the operation was built in Builder.
How can a user tell from Case if an operation has a Source Opcode (an operation that is mapped)?
On the Editing Case page, scroll down to the Print/PDF Actions and select Print Labor Card to open the Labor Card PDF. If the operation has a Source Opcode, you’ll see it in place of the Decisiv Opcode in the Opcode field.
Do I have to worry about a user adding an inspection to a case while it is still being built?
With Builder, by default, an operation is instantly visible to users in Case once you click SAVE & PROCEED on the New Operation page when creating an operation in Builder.
If a user adds the operation to a case while you’re building the inspection line items, they will receive an operation with the items that have been completed up to the time they added it to the case.
To prevent this from happening while building complex inspections, you can mark the operation as inactive by unchecking the Active checkbox on the New Operation page.
Then, when you finish creating all the inspection line items and verify the operation is correct, can check the Active checkbox to make it available for users to add to an estimate.
How do dealer groups work in Builder?
Builder cannot yet accommodate dealer groups. Visibility into operations across a group can only be done in Case. However, fixed prices are now visible across the group by default.
