We recently made changes to the following features for service providers:
These changes make it easier for you create and format the comments you need when assigning a case to another user and more easily see how the price of an operation is calculated.
Workflow Comments
The following enhancements were made to the Comments section of the Workflow tab on Editing Case screen:
- Create Saved Responses
- Enter up to 2000 Characters for a Comment
- Use Line Breaks and Spaces in Your Comment
They were made to match the functionality already available to you from the Notes tab of the same screen.
For step-by-step instructions on using the Workflow feature, see also: Assign a Case to Another User
Create Saved Responses
When assigning a case to someone, you can now create Saved Responses and use them next time you reassign a case.
To create a Saved Response, enter your response in the COMMENTS section of the Workflow tab, and click New. The Saved Response will appear as an option in the Select a Saved Response dropdown for you to select as needed next time.
Enter up to 2000 Characters for a Comment
When assigning a case to someone else, you can now enter up to 2000 characters for your comment. This is 4 times the previous limit of 500.
Use Line Breaks and Spaces in Your Comment
When assigning a case to someone, you can now use the Enter key or Spacebar to create line breaks and add extra spacing in your comment. This is especially helpful if you want to create a list of part numbers or something.
For example, you can now enter the following:
And it will appear like this in the COMMENTS with the line breaks and extra spaces as expected:
Operations
The following enhancements were made to the PRICE INFO section of the Editing Operation screen.
They were made to better communicate the calculations involved in the operation price.
Operation Total Price Added
When you add an operation to a case that does not have a fixed total price, you’ll see a new field called OPERATION TOTAL PRICE instead of FIXED TOTAL PRICE. This field shows the calculated value of the LABOR TOTAL PRICE, PARTS TOTAL PRICE, and CORE PRICE.
Markup Icon Added to Labor Time Price
When you add an operation to a case that has a Labor Time Markup applied to it, you’ll see a new markup icon next to the LABOR TIME price to indicate a markup was added to the price.
Hover over the icon to see what percentage of markup was added to the LABOR TIME price.
