For the Case V8.43.0 Release, targeted for July 31st, we're planning the following improvements.
Enhancements:
- Quick Action Button (QAB) – Auto-Populate Primary Contact | When you open a QAB modal — Check In, Request Approval, Asset Ready, or Asset In Service — the recipient field will automatically pre-populate with the case's Primary Contact.
Case V8.43.0 (Targeted for July 31st, 2026):
Quick Action Button (QAB) – Auto-Populate Primary Contact
When you open a QAB modal — Check In, Request Approval, Asset Ready, or Asset In Service — the recipient field will now automatically pre-populate with the case's Primary Contact (as set on the Case Info VMRS page), as long as that contact has an associated user/email.
Details:
This applies consistently across all four Quick Actions, and works the same way for both fleet and local customers.
The recipient field is only auto-filled if it's currently empty. If a recipient has already been selected or carried over from a previous action, that selection is left untouched.
You can still change or clear the pre-populated recipient before sending — this is just a helpful default, not a requirement.
If no Primary Contact is set on the case, or the Primary Contact doesn't have an associated user/email (e.g., it's a contact-only record), the recipient field will simply be left blank as before.
Why it matters:
Previously, it was easy to forget to add a recipient when taking a quick action, even though the case's Primary Contact was already available as an option. Now that contact is surfaced automatically, reducing missed notifications while still giving you full control to adjust as needed.
